Hopscotch Socks
Back to Homepage

This slipped stitch design is written for adult medium and large sizes in fingering weight yarns.
A fun pattern that works equally well with various yarn choices for different effects.
The sock show ,far left, is an example knitted with a variegated yarn. The sock, far right, was made using two solid yarns alternating the colors every two rounds.
The yarns used in the photo at left-
Left- Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock colorway "Seaside".
Right- LL Shepherd Sock, Nearly Solids, "Charcoal" and "Natural".

The photo, at right, is an example of Hopscotch Socks made using two muted colorways of similar tones- a dark brown heather (seen in cuff) and a medium brown heather.
St Ives yarn was used, in "Pheasant" and "Fenland"colorways. The yarns were alternated every two rounds creating a more conservative ,cobblestone-like   effect,as opposed to the bolder graphic style of the black and white sock.
