A textured stitch pattern, suitable for women's or men's socks,  that is a great way to use variegated yarns.
The stitch pattern has an easy to "get the hang of" repeat. The bits of purl stitches, teamed with knit stitches, help avoid  pooling of colors that may occur if a variegated yarn was knit in stockinette stitch.
The pattern is written for fingering weight yarns, but is easily adaptable to other weights. Sizing is written for both adult medium and large. I added contrasting trim for fun and diversity.
The stitch pattern reminded me somewhat of climbing cobblestones, thus the name. Chestnut Hill,Pa. is where I was born and is known for it's cobblestoned main street.
This sock, kniitted in size large, was made using Cherry Tree Hill's Supersock Merino yarn. Colors used were "Life's A Beach" and "Quarry Hill" for the trim.
Size medium socks made using Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn. Colors used were "Glory Red" and Nearly Solid "Navy".
Size medium socks made using Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock, color "Iris Garden".
